Vietnamese Sticky Rice │Xoi Lap Xuong

My mom is here to share her Vietnamese Sticky Rice with Chinese Sausage (xoi lap xuong) recipe!


2 cups sweet glutinous rice (soaked overnight)
½ cup chopped green onions
2-3 links of Chinese sausages, sliced
½ cup dried shrimp (soaked in warm water for 30 minutes)
½ cup fried shallots
2 tablespoons soy sauce
Pork floss

  1. In a steamer, add soaked and drained glutinous rice. In the middle of the pan, dig a hole in the rice to let steam through. Cover the rice with a banana leaf (or foil if you don't have one) and steam for 25-30 minutes.

  2. In the meantime, add sliced Chinese sausages to a saucepan on medium heat and sauté for 3-5 minutes until the oil comes out. Add dried shrimp, green onions, and soy sauce. Sauté for another 3 minutes until cooked. Set aside.

  3. Once glutinous rice is done, transfer the rice to a bowl and add the sausage and shrimp mixture on top. Top with some pork floss and fried shallots. Enjoy !
