Guava Cream Cheese Breakfast Danish

This Guava Cream Cheese Breakfast Danish is perfect with your morning coffee or a pick-me-up for your afternoon break!

1 sheet puff pastry
8 oz cream cheese, at room temperature
1 egg
¼ cup sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
½ tsp vanilla extract
filling (optional): Jam, fresh berries, chocolate chips

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.

  2. In a bowl, cream your cream cheese, egg, sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.

  3. To your puff pastry sheet, add in half the cream cheese mixture.straight down the middle. You can add fresh berries, or your favorite filling, I am adding guava jam!

  4. Using a paring knife, score the puff pastry diagonally, about 1/2 an inch apart. Braid them over each other.

  5. Brush it with egg wash, and bake for 20 minutes. Enjoy!
